Coromandel Peninsula

In Auckland we stayed 2 days with Jule (Nothdurft). It was cool to hang out with her and we even did a harbour cruise.. Well unfortunately she has all the pictures.. here's one:

On Tuesday we took a bus to Thames, had to walk 2km to the hostel and then went straight to the goldmine there. We got a nice tour from an old guy who has worked in a mine himself.. but not that long. We even could walk sround the Mine a little bit. Here are the pics:

The next day we took the bus up to Coromandel town.. The View on the way up was just great!

In Coromandel Town we took a tour with the Driving Creek Railway. It drove through the woods and on the top part there was a building called the "eye full tower" (related to the Eiffel tower)and you could almost see Auckland from up there.

Nice view!

In the railway we met two old ladies from Manchester, Penny and Danny. They were really nice. Later we saw them again in the town and we started talking for a little bit. Miri told them that we had to hitch hike to the westcoast. Luckily they had to drive through that place that we wanted to stay at and so they took us with them. I just don't have any pictures of them :-(
Later at the backpacker we did some laundry and that was it.

Look at the weird coin..
